Happy Release Day- A Matter of Sin by Jess Michaels

Hi Readers!

We have a real treat today! I'm blasting on League of Rogues today about erotic historical romance writer Jess Michael's brand new release called A Matter of Sin!

Here's the scoop:

The Ladies Book of Pleasures, Book 1

The widowed Lady Isabel Avenbury has one remaining younger sister to shepherd into an advantageous marriage, and then she will be free. Free to take a lover to fill her lonely nights—the only option left for a woman on the delicate edge of a certain age.

Except when she chaperones her sister to a country house party, she is taken aback with her sudden, undeniable attraction to the host. And deliciously scandalized when she finds a copy of the notorious, much-gossiped-about Ladies Book of Pleasures in his library.

When Seth Rowland, Marquis Lyndham, notices his book is missing, his interest is piqued as to which of the potential young brides at his party has absconded with it—and shocked to discover it’s Isabel. Though older than the women he’d planned to court, the powerful beauty exudes a sensuality he cannot ignore.

The book inspires them to begin a desperate, passionate affair. But their time together is running out and they must choose. Follow society’s rules, or take a chance at love.

Warning: Found within are highly scandalous books that trigger passionate desires, surrender in the orangery and possibly true love.

Excerpt:

Isabel trembled as Seth broke the deepening kiss that was rapidly turning her insides to mush. He stepped back and her stomach clenched with fear that he had changed his mind and would leave. But he only examined her. There was a dark and sensual look in his eyes, an expression of desire and possession that put her body on edge and made her knees weak.
He reached for her, and she couldn’t help but stare as his hand touched her shoulder. His long fingers curled around the flesh and bone there, drawing her closer with exquisite gentleness. She shivered as she watched those same fingers drag down her shaking body. They crested over her breast on a journey to the buttons along the front of her gown, and she let out a sigh she couldn’t have withheld for all the gold in England.
“Look at me,” he whispered.
She started as she looked up at his face. As seemed to be the case each time she did so, she was taken aback by how beautiful he was.
And right now that handsome face, those bright, impossibly blue eyes were focused on her and her alone. His face was taut with tension, the veins in his neck throbbing as he unbuttoned the top button of her gown.
“I have been imagining stripping you down like this for days,” he whispered as the second button popped free. “I cannot wait to fulfill that fantasy.”
Isabel tensed.
“What—what if you are disappointed?” she whispered as the third and fourth button opened in rapid succession. “I want…I want these things I can hardly express, but I’m not experienced in them. I don’t know if I will…if I can satisfy you.”
He hesitated, and his gaze held on hers steadily. Then he opened the gown and gently slid it down her trembling shoulders, down over her hips and let it pool around her feet on the floor. She was so on edge by that point that even the slide of her gown over her skin made her shiver with pleasure. Only then did she realize how exposed she was.
Isabel lifted her hands out of habit to cover her breasts. She wasn’t yet naked, for she still remained in her chemise and a pair of what felt like extremely flimsy drawers, but no man save her husband had ever seen her in such a state.
Heat flooded her cheeks and she wanted to turn away, but Seth caught her chin and held her steady with one hand, while with the other he pushed her hands aside and forced her to let him see her.
“Isabel,” he whispered, his voice thick. “I’m not disappointed, I assure you. You are…remarkable. In truth, I fear I might not be able to control myself once I touch you and I won’t satisfy you. I wouldn’t want to repeat what happened today.”
She arched a brow as images of their heated, quick coupling against the door in the orangery tormented her and made her already weeping sex ache.
“I was fully satisfied, ” she murmured.
He smiled, wicked and improper. “I’m glad. But the first time I made love to you, I should have taken my time. And so I intend to remedy that tonight. Now.”
