Galaxy Glimpse - 8 Sentence Sunday 6-30-13

Hey Readers!

I'm changing gears this Sunday after a couple of weeks off from Eight Sentence Sunday. I'm happy to announce I'll be posting some snippets from new latest WIP called Across the Stars. It's a SFR or Sci-Fi Romance.

Here's the story scoop: Laina is one of the last surviving humans after earth was destroyed when the humans tried to kill the cyborgs they'd created when the cyborgs rebelled and escaped. Now the Cyborgs, with permission of the Galactic High Council have free rein to pursue the last remnants of the human race and do with them as they see fit. Rorik, a cyborg lieutenant stumbles upon Laina hiding in a ship and he captures her, thinking to get information about the whereabouts of other humans. But when the cyborg doctor on Rorik's ship runs tests on Laina, a genetic anomaly in her hand raises questions and he suddenly wonders if Laina might hold the key to the survival of the cyborg race. Can he learn to trust and love his sworn enemy if it means he might save his people? Last week we left off with Laina having gotten her first glimpse of Rorik through her cabin window as his ship prepares to board hers.

He was staring back at her through the floor to ceiling window of the Orion. Legs braced apart, hands clasped behind his back in a military at-rest position, he looked every inch the predator she knew he was.
His lips curled into a smile that seemed to say, "I'm coming for you little mouse."
The Orion drew nearer and when it was close enough to extend a connecting bridge, the Calliope shuddered violently as the bridge locked onto the transport ship’s bay doors.
The blond haired cyborg turned to say something to another of his crew before he left the main deck. She swallowed thickly; he’d seen her. Hiding was now crucial, but she had a sinking feeling that no matter where she hid they’d find her. If they knew she was on board, they’d tear the ship apart to get to her.

Galaxy Glimpse- 8 sentence Sunday!

Can he learn to trust and love his sworn enemy if it means he might save his people?

And then she saw him, the most beautiful man she'd ever seen. Even though men weren't supposed to be beautiful, he was. Blond hair long enough to run her fingers through, blue eyes that caught hers and swallowed her whole. They were icy eyes, no emotion lingered there, nor did any trace of feeling flit across the chiseled features of his face. He wore fitted black pants that showed long, muscular legs, and a long sleeved black shirt that outlined broad shoulders and a tapered waist.
He was devastating. He was a god.

He was a cyborg.

Paranormal Bite- NEW RELEASE- 8 sentence sunday 6/2/13

Hey Readers!

We've got another fabulous Sunday to indulge in eight awesome sentences! Here's an excerpt from my May 29, 2013 release of Blood Moon on the Rise.

Tamara and Nicholas the hero and heroine are members of a supernatural creature hunting society. An ancient law forbids them from falling in love and yet they were assigned as partners when they were fifteen years old. Now as adults, they are fighting the feelings which have only grown between them since they were teenagers. Here Nicholas is meeting with the head of the Brotherhood of the Blood Moon, Damien MacQueen, a veritable legend among the hunters. Damien is warning Nicholas about the sorceress Jacqueline and her vampire brother who are dangerous.

“I didn’t tell you that to make you pity her, or me,” Damien said, and his eyes burned with intensity as he focused on Nicholas. “I want you to be careful, don’t ever underestimate Jacqueline. Even if she doesn’t come after you herself, she might send someone like her brother to do it for her.”

“I’ll be careful, she won’t get to us, Tamara is…” He clamped his mouth shut, swallowing the words that would have condemned him in front of his boss. “She’s too important to the cause, I won’t let anything happen to her.”

His boss studied him for a long second, his eyes sharp with a falcon-like glint, as though he’d seen something and was still debating what to do about it. Nicholas tamped down the rising magic, which always surged to the surface when his emotions ran high; he couldn’t expose his feelings for Tamara, not in front of the man who was supposed to enforce the rule that kept him and the woman he loved apart.

The only thing he hasn’t given her is his love. A relationship between Tamara and Nicholas is forbidden by ancient law, and the consequences could be deadly.

But when a powerful Sorceress threatens both their lives, Tamara has a choice to make: Give into her feelings for Nicholas, and risk her life. Or take a chance on Nicholas, and receive his love—at a price.
